Birthday Gifts from Nana

Tuesday the kids brought home the first of their gifts from Nana. The boys got new underwear and Delaney got a new purse. All of the items had been requested. My mom accidentally bought the boxer briefs, but Jax was more than thrilled. He thought he was so BIG. Baylor was also very proud of his underwear. When I went to pick him up, he came running in the room with his underwear, did a little hop and then spinned around to show me his butt. He was very proudly displaying speed racer. My kids are all about the little things...
Tonight, Nana brought over their big present...Bikes! They had rode smaller bikes at her house but they didn't have brakes and were use to pedaling both backwards and forwards, so this was a new concept. Jax and Delaney got on their bikes right away and were off. Jaxon the "dare devil" was riding down the sloped driveway and then hitting the brakes to my amazement. On the other hand, Baylor had a tough time getting the bike to move forward. He finally got the bike going and then proceeds down the driveway. Of course he doesn't use the brakes and lifts his feet out from the pedals and just screams. I run chasing after him down the driveway but it was too late. Just as I got to him, he crashed in the street. Luckily just a scraped elbow. While he is needing wounds tended to, Jax decides to try Baylor's stunt. He proceeds down the driveway, crossing the street and landing into the field area across the street. Luckily the grass softened his blow. So, I then gained control of the situation (Yes, I should have done this before) and we all went out on the street to ride on a flat surface. From then on, just a minor crash. Wow, and we still have training wheels on!

Surprise!

Baylor walking away, very frustrated. He finally got back on and was off in a matter of seconds. He just gets so upset with himself when he can't do something right away. And the more you try to help him, the more he gets upset.

And then there is speed demon Jax....
