Game Day!

Fall is just around the corner and that means it's time for football. Today, Skiatook Red took on their first opponent, Broken Arrow, Silver at home to claim their first victory 19-12. I"m sure Rick, never in his wildest dreams, thought his boys would be Bulldogs instead of Tigers.

Delaney was probably even more pumped than the boys today. She and another girl were chosen to serve as team captains. As team captain, you must call cheers, say the cheer before the other girls and call "last time." It really is some responsibility and she took it very seriously. I can't say I've been all that pumped about cheer; it's been a bit disorganized and I was a more than frustrated and disappointed when I realized she would have to cheer for other teams, after being promised that she would only cheer for the boys team, which was the main reason we agreed to cheer. But, it turned out that they had three football teams and only two cheer squads, so that would put us on a rotating schedule. The schedule finally arrived this week and thankfully, she will cheer for the boys with the exception of two games. And of course, it probably goes without saying, but so far she absolutely loves it.
Here we are ready to cheer on our boys! As you can see, Delaney lost her third tooth this week. Jax is #9, and easily the littlest guy on the team, but he is loving football. He spends most of his time playing either left or right tackle. For a little guy, he's not afraid to go for the hit. He's picking up the sport rather quickly and doesn't like taking his turn sitting out. He wants to play! Baylor, #22 is a little more timid, but he says he likes it.

I realize I don't have any game shots but I need a better lense, so Delaney saw a little more camera action this week.
