Schlitterbahn

A big vacation wasn't in the budget this year but some good friends invited us to go to the Schlitterbahn, which is something we had actually tossed around. So, last Thursday we set off for San Antonio, Texas for a mini-vacation. After a good day of driving, we were ready for a night out in San Antonio!
We enjoyed a stroll along the river walk in search of dinner. This was the best family pic we could get. The little people were getting restless and ready to eat. I wish we would have had more time to spend on the river walk. Here's the gang after a quick dip in the pool, ready for some real adventure and fun, as we set out to find some slides. On day 1, we visited the old Schlitterbahn and then headed over to the most anticipated ride by the kids, Dragon's Revenge. After an hour and a half wait, it didn't seem to disappoint. Unfortunately, the lines for most rides were long. And on day 2, they were even longer. We waited over two hours for the master blaster. After that point, the kids and adults were pretty much done with standing in lines. The kids enjoyed playing on a pirate ship, and we floated the wave river. We set out to find things with less than hour wait, which was difficult.

This vacation had it's highs and lows. The water park had plenty to offer; However, I was disappointed with the fact that we spent more time waiting in lines than actually enjoying the park. There were lots of water attractions we didn't get to enjoy. Lesson learned...never visit any kind of park during a weekend. On the upside, once again we have made more great memories with friends.
