Christmas Morning Continued

We continued our breakfast tradition with my mom and brother, but this year we went to Patrick's house. He cooked up a yummy breakfast and the kids enjoyed opening more gifts.

Christmas Morning

I actually woke up before the kids and was waiting in the recliner. However, Delaney walked right past through the living room to our bedroom to wake me up. She kept her eyes covered just as I've always instructed her to do. What a good girl! I think Santa was pretty good to them. Santa left Jax a note explaining that he just couldn't make a wrestling mat this year.

And the big gift from mom and dad... What is it?

KINECT!!!!

I think they like it! I can't take credit for any of it. This was a dad purchase.

Bust a move! I think Jax was more excited about Dance Central than Delaney.

We are happy to report that all the money we've spent on dance lessons has paid off. Delaney whips the boys but currently, mama holds the record! Lucky for me no one besides myself bothers to pick up the camera.

Christmas Eve

Baylor kept asking when it was going to snow. I had to remind him that it doesn't snow every Christmas. While last year will always be memorable, I was happy that there were no travel issues and most of my family made it over Christmas Eve.

Cookies for Santa

Baking Cookies for Santa almost slipped my mind this year. I guess we were baking so many other things that I almost forgot. Baylor decided to watch but the other two insisted on making sugar cookies.

My Elf

This little girl is my ever present helper. This season she stuffed Christmas cards, assisted in wrapping presents, and baked. I'm sure I don't appreciate her enough; she makes all the tasks of life all that more fun.

Lights

Carole and I took our kids for an evening of walking around at Rhema. We first stopped off at QT for some hot chocolate. Although Jax is a huge fan of hot chocolate, he insisted on having a Koolie. I think he may have regretted that decision but he sure admit it.
I so love these three kiddos!

Words With 7 Year Olds...

A little frustrating but also very entertaining!

Since last spring, I've had my own addiction/obsession with the iphone ap, Words With Friends. The kids are always interested when I play and have asked on many occasions if they could play. I finally caved the other evening and added the ap to their iTouch. I figured what's the harm in them playing one another, so we spent a good portion of our first day of vacation playing. So far, they haven't completed a game but they are learning more and more as they go along. Delaney and Jax get to a point and then just resign if they can't figure out a word to play. At this point, Jax and Delaney have a game going which is about half way finished. Jax is especially good with adding up points and knowing how many points he's behind. They've even managed to teach me a few two letter vowel combinations that I didn't know existed. Maybe what entertains me most is that while they are playing, they refer to each other as their screen names.

Class Christmas Party

Rick not only attended the kid's Christmas Party but also took lots of photos. I hate it that I can't make all their parties, but I am very grateful that they have a Dad who's willing to go.

All I want for Christmas....

is my two front teeth! After a little playground accident, she lost her second top tooth. She is officially toothless and couldn't be more proud. The first thing she said, "sister sally sat on a thistle!"

Santa's Coming to Town

Marrs Elementary students were invited to sing at the first annual tree lighting at our new park. When calling all volunteers, my children were first to step-up. About 40 or 45 kids showed up to sing, before lighting the town tree. One benefit of a smaller town is that you are sure to run into friends. The kids played at the new park and then we enjoyed the parade, which followed.

Just for Nana

It's not that we haven't been busy but I guess I just haven't had my camera around capturing every moment. So, here's a post for you mom. These are pictures that I have neglected to post because I've been editing them in photoshop well over a month. This was my attempt at some fall pictures. I can't decide if I like the vintage effect (the latest photography editing technique) or just the natural lighting. Maybe I'll decide before Christmas and you'll have some new photographs.

All natural, which still need some editing...

Got to have some silly pictures!

And the vintage effect...
