The boys drop off was a little different for a few reasons. First, we moved them in and stayed the night so our drop-off didn't feel as rushed. We also were surrounded by best friends, who were also doing the same. It almost felt like just another event we were doing with our kids. There were definitely tears as I said goodbye, but this time I knew I'd be okay. I prayed that we would all adjust with time.

Those first few weeks of no kids in the house was eerily quiet. It took time but eventually, Rick and I built a new routine for our evenings and counted down the days until our visits.
