The kids decorated a paper bag at school and their first assignment was to gather, up to five items, that would fit in their bag and reprsented them. They will then be sharing with their class tomorrow.
The items they gathered are below. Jax gathered: his coin collection, football to show his love of football, wrestling medal, & picture of Bodie. I think Baylor may have been in a hurry to grab some items. He chose a movie that he likes but doesn't love, a dog bone, picture of Bodie, a soccer picture, and a dollar. When I asked him why he chose the dollar, he replied, "I just wanted it." ?????
Delaney wouldn't show off her items but she gathered her reading trophy, coin collection, picture of Bodie, and Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume.
I'm pretty sure the class will be quite familiar with our family pet, Bodie by the end of the week.

Big 2nd Graders
Second graders rule the school! It seems like only yesterday I was dropping them off for their first day of pre-K and now they are the oldest kids at their school. Next year they will be off to the intermediate elementary.
Everyone was super excited to get out the door and off to school this morning. They couldn't wait to see their friends, meet their new teacher, and see what fun was in store for them. Jax said, "I just don't want to have any spelling test."

MIA
We are still alive. I just have seriously neglected this blog the past month. For the month of July, we enjoyed many of our summer favorites but I just haven't been toting my camera around. Delaney has spent several summer days reading old posts so I know how important it is to keep preserving their memories here. Hopefully, I can get back into the swing of things.
In July, Rick and I went to Vegas. I'm not sure Vegas is our kind of place but we enjoyed getting away. (We didn't take time to take many pictures.)
Well, I'm not going to go back and re-capture all the mundane details of July. To sum up July. It was HOT. (We set a record for the number of days above 100) We enjoyed a less events on the calendar, and spending lots of time with friends.
