BREAKING NEWS!

Nope, this post has nothing to do with the unheard of blizzard warnings for Oklahoma but we must report that Jax has finally lost his FIRST tooth. He has anticipated this day for a long time, since most of his friends and brother and sister have already had their first visit from the tooth fairy.
His bottom tooth has been loose for quite some time. Yesterday, he asked his Dad to pull it. After closer inspection, we realized that it was really close to being ready, and in fact his other tooth has already pushed through behind it. Rick tried pulling it yesterday but it just wasn't quite loose enough. However, today after a little more wiggling, it finally came out.

Interesting Trivia:

Delaney lost her first tooth on January 28th, 2009. (She has since lost a total of 6!)
Baylor lost his first tooth on January 30th, 2010. (He has lost 2).
Jax lost his first tooth on January 31st, 2011.

Meet Bodie

Introducing the newest member of our family... Bodie Bullet! The kids have asked off and on for a year now when they could have a pet and I have managed to put them off each time. However, the past month or so they had become much more insistent. Delaney spent the night with a friend and fell in love with their dog. She came home begging for a dog and it didn't take much for Dad to agree. Besides, I think he's been secretly waiting for them to beg for a dog. I had many, very sound reasons for not wanting a pet, but in the end I also caved when it became apparent how badly all three of them wanted a dog. I suppose it's every kids right of passage. I insisted on it being a small dog that they could easily care for and since I had a maltese growing up, it was an obvious choice.

The kids were super excited to bring home Bodie, Friday evening. I think Bodie wasn't so sure about them.

Slowly, Bodie is coming around to love the three kiddos who are constantly fighting for his attention.

For the most part, Bodie is trapped in Delaney's arms. We have to remind her that it's good for him to walk. I must say she is doing her best to care for him in every way. How long will that last?

First Sleep Over

Last Saturday, Delaney headed to her friend Emily's house for her first sleep over. Our house was unusually quiet with just the boys. She had an absolute blast to say the least.

Ringing in 2011

We met our good friends from Church at Hideaway and enjoyed pizza. Then, we headed back to town to a friends house, where we rang in the new year. For the first time, we actually let the kids stay up until midnight. Around 11:20, Baylor was really beginning to look tired and was eager for midnight to come. At midnight, we enjoyed a few fireworks and then headed home for our beds. It was way past our bedtime!
