Finally Getting Out

Even though Delaney and Jax are still not 100 percent, we managed to escape the house and enjoy spring. Our first errand included hair cuts (trim for Delaney) for everyone. We then ventured to a very busy park for lunch and a little playtime. Because there were so may kids, I told everyone to stay together (to help me out) and to my surprise they really did a wonderful job of keeping together. It makes me so proud to see them look after each other.

Enjoying a little lunch. Two of them still aren't eating much but they sucked down some gatorade.

Helping each other have a little fun

This pic was towards the end and Baylor was ready to leave. He was hot, tired, and wanted a drink from sonic.

Spring Break Bug Hits Again

Other than one case of bronchitis, the kids have stayed relatively healthy this flu season. But, just as last spring break some sort of virus has struck and Baylor was the first victim. He's been running fever and complaining of a headache since Saturday.

This morning, I took Delaney & Jax to church, while Baylor stayed home with Rick.
Baylor seems to be feeling somewhat better, but he's still running a low grade fever.
By afternoon, Jax was running fever, complete with aches and upset stomach. Poor guy....it's hit him pretty hard.

Delaney mothering Jax, who finally caught some much needed rest.
By bedtime Delaney was experiencing the aches and had a slight fever. Hopefully, this will be a short virus, so we can get out and enjoy the beautiful weather which has been forecast for mid-week.

Practice

This is the kids first year to play coach pitch so learning to hit the ball is quite a struggle. Since being hit, Delenay wants to close her eyes or duck away from the ball.

Practicing her swing

I rarely see the kids fight, but this is one instance where Delaney and Jax decided to fight for the ball.

March

For some reason, it seems as if the month of March always sneaks up on me. However, I am more than ready for spring. While it seems like we haven't been up to much, the past week has been hectic and next week seems to be more of the same.

The boys continue to use any "free time" to try and unlock all of the levels on the Star Wars Lego game. Their love for Star Wars seems to have brought the boys closer, but I think Delaney feels left out at times. She has always been right in the middle of things but not so much these days. I find myself being her new playmate. She loves to play school which as one can imagine is exactly what I want to do when I get home from work. Luckily, she likes to be the teacher and I get to be the student.Monday (Dr. Seuss's Birthday), we attended family reading night at the kids school and the book fair. Of course the boys chose Star Wars books. They wanted Daddy to read to them on this particular night. It's very cute when Baylor says, "I need to read level 7 & 8." Of course what he really means is chapters 7 & 8.

Tuesday was Rick's birthday and the kids first baseball practice. Let's just say the kids have a long way to go, but even though it was very cold that night, they seemed to enjoy themselves. Delaney ended up with a slight black eye. She went around telling everyone that her dad gave her a black eye.
Tonight we finally celebrated Rick's birthday with good friends at one of our favorite places to eat.
