Cheer Weekend

Our last competition for the season was at Frontier City.  We decided to take a day off from school and head up Friday morning so the girls could really make a weekend of it. We stopped at Pops and spent a little time at the outlets.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day except for the high winds. As luck would have it, the winds always seemed to pick up every time the girls went up for a stunt, but they didn't let that hold them back.  Their performance wasn't quite as clean as last time, but they did extremely well.  In fact,  they actually earned another first place win beating out four other teams in youth level 2 and even sweeter, they earned  high point grand champions, beating 6 other Junior teams and 2 senior teams. It's been amazing to watch these girls transform into a solid squad and literally go from the bottom to the top.

In between competing and after awards, the girls had plenty of time to enjoy the park.  Delaney finally rode an upside down roller coaster.  She was so proud of herself and squealing towards the end of the ride, "I did it, mommy.  I did it.  I met my goal!"  I find this humorous because only Delaney would set a goal in an amusement park!

Over all, it was a fun weekend. I loved the warm weather and riding roller coasters with my girl.  It certainly makes me long for summer even more.

Even though, I wasn't super excited about being a cheer mom, I've come to really enjoy it.  It helps to be surrounded by so many other great moms and girls.  I am actually going to miss it and can't wait to watch these girls do their thing again next year!
