A few Christmas Goodies

The kids loved all their gifts this year.  Here are just a few:
Only this boy gets excited about socks!

Everyone needed their own basketball

The beginning of her Vera Bradley collection

Poor kid was in desperate need of a new backpack

New comforter from Nana

Jax loved his OSU case from Patrick & Julie

basketball jersey

I was afraid that he'd be a little upset to see only a jersey left from Santa, but actually  he was quite thrilled.  He was even more thrilled when we revealed that there was a basketball goal outside as well.

Christmas with Family

I can honestly say that spending time with family and cousins is equally as exciting to the kids as opening gifts.  I managed to make the kids take a picture together on both sides of the family but other than that I was busy visiting or playing games to take pictures

Christmas Prep

I really feel like we didn't start celebrating the season until the week of Christmas.  Saturday evening before Christmas, we attended Celebrate Christmas, and then on Sunday, our church actually sang Christmas songs and our worship focused on the birth of Jesus.   It was a great way to begin the week of Christmas!

As usual, we spent the 23rd...baking!  I decided not to make oreo balls this year, but the kids insisted.

And just like every year, Baylor enjoyed eating an oreo but kept his distance from baking.  He better marry someone who can cook. His cooking skills are limited to microwave popcorn.

Hair Spray & Glitter

We have officially entered the world of hair spray, bumps, and glitter.  I'm not sure I was cut out to be a cheer mom.   Luckily, the team gets together before competition to get ready. So far, I've learned that I can't do a bump and I haven't even attempted make up.  My contribution is curling hair.  With that being said, I learned there is a stying tool called the wand.  No more old fashion curling iron for this girl.  Who knew I was still living in the 80's?

I can't say I am a fan of the hair or make up but it was fun watching her perform.
They hit all their stunts, which is no easy task. I think they put Delaney up at least 5 times, which makes me a little nervous but she loves it.  They are already working on more difficult stunts and skills for their next competition in January.  One thing I have learned...this sport is a lot of work!

Snow Day

We enjoyed an early snow day in December.  Rick took the kids sledding for the first time, which they loved.  I supplied them with hot chocolate.  We snuggled up watching our favorite Christmas movie.  It's always nice to get an unexpected day to slow down and enjoy the little things.

We made snow ice cream floats!

Saturday, I survived frigid temps to watch the game.  I refuse to mention the outcome!
