Pet Show & Tell

Mrs. Kreder is one brave teacher allowing every child to bring their pet and endure a day of second graders telling all about their pet.  I suggested they rehearse who would tell what and so that they wouldn't try and talk over each other, but they wanted to just wing it.

Mrs. Kreder said they seemed like a married couple.  As one would tell a story,  the other two would look at the one speaking and give them a funny look, just like an old married couple.  I hadn't ever thought of it that way.  They did agree that the dog loved Delaney most.

On the Mound

Delaney made her pitching debut the other evening and did a great job. At this age, the coach pitches the first two innings, and then the girls get the opportunity to basically practice pitching.  If they don't get any stikes on the opponent, then the coach comes in and pitches.  If you can throw even 3 strikes during an inning, it's considered a success.  I didn't keep count, but she did manage to throw some strikes and even better when the ball was hit, she managed to field two balls and make the throw to first for, two outs.  I have a feeling she will be taking her pitching practice a little more serious now that she knows what it feels like to actually pitch in a game.

Daddy/Daughter Dance

Last Saturday, Delaney and I spent some girl time shopping with a couple of friends.  She picked out a few summer items and a dress for the dance.  As we left the mall, she told me how much fun she had.  She was beyond excited for the big event later that evening.  My little girl is growing up so fast!:(
I'm her mom so of course...I think she looked beautiful!

Rick said, she ditched him a little this year, in order to dance with her girlfriends.  He is such a good Dad.

After a day with my girl, I spent the evening playing four square with my boys and enjoying some ice cream.  It was a great Saturday!

Easter

I sort of failed on taking pictures this Easter.  I didn't even manage to take a picture before we left for church that morning.

We used Kool-Aid to dye our eggs this year and it worked!

Baylor, "I got a years supply of chocolate."  I'm pretty sure that only lasted a week!

It's Spring

That means we will soon be busy with soccer and softball. Delaney played in her first tournament this weekend with her new team, the Crush and Baylor played his third game of the season. This time of year keeps us hopping, but we enjoy it. Jax is enjoying his down season and is the absolute best brother, cheering both Delaney and Baylor on during their sports.

So We THINK we can dance

The kids were absolute dancing fools. The girls enjoyed learning a few line dances, which wasn't all that surprising but the boys were equally ready to bust a move. During dinner, they were happy to join the wait staff and dance. Later, we headed out on the deck for our nightly ice cream and were surprised to find a D.J.  Our kids were the first to begin dancing and even started a conga line. It wasn't long before, they had some older girls joining in on their dance fun. They certainly enjoyed every opportunity to show of their signature moves.

Formal Night

All of our dinners were pretty special.  The kids loved ordering for themselves and it was so fun to watch them interact with the waiters, order whatever they liked from the menu and use manners. They sounded like little grown-ups.  I think the boys ordered steak every night.  Our fancy night as Baylor called it, we enjoyed dinner and then took in a family comedy show.
My handsome boys wearing their first ties.

Our waiter Tiger, asked Delaney to dance with him.  She was more than happy to oblige.

We even managed to take a quick picture with Flat Stanley, even though by this point he was missing an arm.

Spring Break: Part 2

On Wednesday, we left the cloudy skies and rain behind and headed south to Galeveston. On Thursday, we boarded the Carnival Triumph for our first cruise.  All in all, we had a great time. It was relaxing and I loved watching the kids have so much fun and experience new things.  Pictures aren't the best, but they are our memories.  This was also our first Spring Break vacation and I enjoyed it more than I thought, but now I'm having a little trouble adjusting to reality.  I'm ready for the lazy pool side days of summer!

Super Exited to hit the road...I must say they have become much better car travelers since our last long drive.  They can actually entertain themselves.  They packed their travel bags and to my surprise brought their bibles so that I could call out scripture and they could race to find it.

Galveston...not so pretty
It only took a matter of minutes before the kids located the highly anticipated ice cream machine.  I feel certain we got our money's worth in ice cream.
