Slumber Party: Boy Style

The slumber party portion was fairly short but I couldn't leave them out. They spent most of the evening playing laser quest.  This allowed the girls plenty of time to do their thing.  They weren't nearly as thrilled to have their picture taken as the girls.

Slumber Party: Girl Style

Delaney celebrated her 8th birthday with a small sleep over. Leading up to the party, she had quite the agenda of activities and everything planned down to the last minute. I have no idea where she would get such a neurotic trait. In random order, here are some pictures from their evening of fun.

Happy "almost" 8th Birthday!

Once again, we celebrated Labor Day with family and took the opportunity to celebrate the kids upcoming birthday. After a scorching hot Saturday, temperatures were extremely mild so not that many chose to swim. We did, however, enjoy some outdoor yard football and were able to spend some time with those we love.

It was an extremely busy week leading in to the weekend, as well as a busy weekend. I planned on baking cupcakes, but the kids could care less about the cupcakes. At the last moment, I suggested a brownie cake, since that's their absolute favorite and I not only saved myself some time, but also became "mother of the year."

Sometimes "traditions" are just meant to be broken.

A special thanks to all our family, who helped us to celebrate.

OSU Football!

This year we purchased season tickets and split them with another family. We knew the kids were proud to sport their orange but wondered how much they would actually enjoy the entire game day experience. Much to our joy, they had an absolute blast.

Warning: I actually took quite a few pictures and felt the need to post many of them. Here we are excited to head to Stillwater.

We enjoyed lunch at Mexico Joe's.

Then, we decided to take in a little pre-game campus day activities before the game. We visited some friends who were tailgating and even found free jupiter jumps and snow cones. However, it was so incredibly hot, it was really hard for them to even enjoy it. We made our way to the player's walk. The kids were wearing down at this point so Rick offered up his shoulders for a special vantage point.

Afterwards, we found a fountain and let the kids cool off and they seemed to find their spirits again.

No doubt about it though, the game was their favorite part of the day. Jax especially had a great time, cheering as loud he possibly could and he watched every single play. The best part for me was just watching them have so much fun. As a parent, watching my kids experience things for the first time is always such a joy. I'm so excited to have something else to enjoy together as a family.

They can't wait to go back again!
