More Football

After our morning of first grade football, we spent our evening at Skelly Stadiem waching the Tulsa Hurricanes. As a part of the INFC, we able to purchase discounted tickets and the kids were part of the spirit line, as Tulsa's players took the field. The kids had a great time experiencing a little college football action. I can't say that they were really all that into the game, but more the atmosphere. Nothing more to say than it was a wonderful fall evening with family.

In Action

Week 4 and our winning streak came to an end as we lost 12-14. Last play of the game ended with our running back getting knocked out of bounds at the two yard line, as time expired. Fortunately at this age, if the coach says you played hard then that's all that matters. The boys were fine with "almost" winning, And, both boys had their name announced over the loud speaker. This was especially important to Baylor, but guess he was to wrapped up in the game, he didn't hear. His shining moment, "That's Baylor Ward wrecking havoc in the backfield.

B.F.F.

This summer Delaney and Emily really bonded over all things girly. The boys had a friend sleep over this summer, so Delaney was eager to have her first sleep over with her B.F.F. The girls had a blast and even managed to go to bed at a decent time. When your six, matching is no fashion fapaux.

Seventh Birthday

Here's my trio on their actual birthday, which also happened to be picture day and grandparents day at school. It's the best picture we could get, considering it was about 6:20 in the morning and we still needed to run by the donut shop to pick up donuts for their class. Saturday, the kids celebrated with a few friends. Trying to keep things somewhat simple, I ordered cupcake pics from Etsy a while back, but the boys had their hearts set on having light sabers that crossed. I thought...surely, I can pull that off. Well, not so much but it was just as they had envisioned, so they couldn't have been happier. Since the boys had a cake, I had to make sure Delaney had one as well. I managed to pull of some decent looking cupcakes, but thought better of attempting a monkey. And thank goodness, because it turned out oh so cute and delicious! She also made some cake balls that were out of this world! The cake was much bigger than I had anticipated. We ended up with way more cake than we ever needed, but everyone was happy. If I didn't mention it before, cake balls are my new love. Oh my!

Labor Day

We took advantage of the holiday to not only celebrate summer's end, but also the kids seventh birthday with family. Pizza, pool, sunshine, family, and birthday cake made for a great day. It was windy and the pool was a little chilly, but the kids found plenty of entertainment in the outdoors. As usual, the kids thoroughly enjoyed spending time with their cousins.
I was trying to keep the cake simple for this celebration and they insisted on having this psychedelic, colorful cake. I tried my best, but that's all I can say. They were pleased so I guess that's all that really matters in the end.

It's always hard to see my babies turn a year older. Some days, I'm amazed at how old they seem to be, only to turn around and realize how young they still are. One thing's certain, they still make me laugh on a daily basis. A few days ago the kids were telling me about how they were learning the school fight song and that they would be traveling to the High School for a "Pespsi-See." I finally figured out that they were referring to a pep assembly. Then, in church the other day, Delaney asked if she could sit by her friend Emily, after "community service" a.k.a. communion.

Delaney runs the wrong way for a touch down!

She might be almost seven, but she's still Daddy's little girl!

Orange Power

Our little Bulldogs weren't playing this weekend. In fact, they left on Friday to attend a family reunion with my mom for two days. Rick and I actually had a day and half to ourselves! We enjoyed an evening out Friday and headed to Stillwater with friends on Saturday. I love the whole college game day energy of being on campus, hanging out, and the collective spirit of so many people coming together at once to support a team. I really enjoyed time alone with my husband, but found myself missing the kids. They are really interested in OSU and I know they would have a blast hanging out on campus for the day. Maybe next year!
