Almost Christmas

Christmas is almost here and the kiddos are ready! They visited Santa at Wal-mart a few weeks ago. As Delaney approached Santa, she said , "Santa, do you remember me from last year?"
Everyone told Santa what they wanted. Santa also dropped by their school. Jax said, "Santa came all the way to Broken Arrow!"

Santa Request:
Delaney- Dora "fixin hair"
Jax- Squawking McCaw
Baylor- Mac

It's been an eventful few days. Friday evening Jax began to run a very high fever . Saturday, it continued to spike every few hours to 104 so we took him to Urgent Care and he had a sinus infection. So, the good news was he wasn't contagious and the other two wouldn't be sick soon. He's still fighting a bit of a fever but he should be better after another round of antibiotics tonight.

Delaney has rearranged the presents under the tree so many times that one of hers is beginning to rip and yesterday I caught Baylor trying to take a peek. I yelled, Baylor and scared him half to death.

No "Electry"

Even with a cold house, I had to remind Jax to keep his clothes on!

"I just want some carkoons!"

We returned home last Sunday afternoon to find our home without power or as the kids say, we had no "electry". An ice storm had caused major damage to power lines. The entire town was without power. It was an eventful week. The kids spent a couple of evenings at their Nana's since her house was a bit warmer. Our house dipped down to about 57 degrees at night. During the day we tried heating with the stove and the upstairs was staying at around 65 and even made it up to 74 once. The kids camped out upstairs since it was warmer. Delaney ended up sleeping with Rick and I. She hates the dark and typically sleeps with a light. Even sleeping with us in bed, she would wake up screaming, "mama, mama". Tuesday, we hooked up a generator which provided some light and a couple of stations on television as the satellite was out. Wednesday after an eventful evening of smoke alarms going off, Rick had our fire logs installed which helped to keep the house a bit warmer. Thursday, we could see a utility crew in our neighborhood. We decided to run to Owasso and have dinner. Delaney ate a bit too much jello and began to complain of a tummy ache. We made it home and as soon as she stood from her car seat, she became the exorcist. We had to clean her up and the car in the dark. In the middle of all that drama, power was finally restored in the nick of time as we really needed the washer. The kids were so excited to sleep in their own beds. Everyone went to bed without a fight. Slowly, life is becoming a little bit more normal.
